Des Linden is, by far, my favorite female distance runner. Her tenacity and consistency has always been two qualities I’ve admired about her racing style and both were on full display last week at the Olympic Trials in Atlanta where she just missed qualifying for the team. She ran a 2:29:03 finishing 4th and just missing that final spot behind Sally Kipyego’s 2:28:52. In this Runner's World article she talks about that race and what's ahead for the decorated runner.
